The 5th WACP World Congress will convene on October 11-13, 2018.
The World Congress will be in New York City, NY at Columbia University.
The World Congress is open to anyone interested in cultural psychiatry and/or culture and mental health, including practitioners, researchers, individuals involved in policy-making, and consumer and family advocates. However, registration is necessary to access all conference activities, including research panels, presentations, and poster sessions.

If you are not currently a WACP member, you may become a member before registering for the World Congress in order to benefit from the discounted registration fee. Registration costs include attendance to the congress, lunches, coffee/tea, and the opening reception. Registration fees do not include Continuing Medical Education credits or the gala banquet.

You will receive an email from Eventzilla that confirms your registration for the event. If you pay through PayPal or a credit card, you will receive a second that confirms your payment.

The conference will be held in the historic Morningside Campus of Columbia University in New York City.
The Morningside Campus is easily accessible by public transportation. Please visit our venue page for information.
Parking is available at your own cost near Columbia University at several nearby private lots. However, we encourage attendees to take public transportation as much as possible.
Columbia University allows smoking only in designated areas. Smoking is not allowed in the interior of the buildings where the congress will be held, but there are smoking areas near several of the venue locations.

Registered attendees may bring a maximum of two accompanying persons above the age of 15. Children 14 and younger may attend the conference free of charge. Please note we will not provide childcare on site.
WACP can provide you a visa request letter. Please visit our registration page to request a letter. Please note it is the international registrant’s responsibility to apply for and obtain a visa for travel to the U.S. in order to attend the conference. Please contact your institution or university for assistance with this process. You may also refer to the U.S. State Department’s website for additional information.
Please note cancellations within 30 days of the congress cannot be reimbursed. Cancellations between 90 days and 61 days of the congress will receive 75% reimbursement; those between 60 days and 31 days will receive 50% reimbursement. Registrants whose visa applications are not approved will receive 100% reimbursement at any time before the congress; written documentation of the visa denial will be required to process refunds. All funds will be returned by the method in which they were paid (e.g., credit card to credit card).
Regretfully, recording devices are not allowed.
Only food provided onsite will be allowed, according to venue policy.
Articles from presentations will not be available at the conference. We encourage conference attendees to contact speakers directly while at the conference.
